Playful Plectrums

2-4 years

Enjoy a lively session of musical storytelling and classic nursery rhymes with your toddler, with an early introduction to drums & ukulele.

Each week the children go on a different musical adventure... They take a trip to an imaginary zoo, or the beach, or a jungle... and sing songs and explore the instruments and sounds they can make.

All helping them to develop a sense of pulse, rhythm, pitch, and understanding the creative possibilities of sound as an art form.

Tiny Headliners

4 months-2 years

Our weekly baby concerts, led by Barry De Jager and supported by Darryl Powis on drums.

They provide a perfect opportunity for you and your child to bond over well-loved nursery rhymes and iconic tunes from legendary bands like Queen, The Beatles, Oasis, Abba, and lots more.

Watch as your little one develops confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of music!

Meet New Friends

Make lasting friendships with local parents while your little ones play, dance, and rock out to everything from Bon Jovi to Taylor Swift. From first steps to first sing-alongs, these moments are even better shared.


Instructors

Darryl

Darryl founded Kitchen Jam with his wife Jennifer back in 2012, and plays drums at our Tiny Headliners baby concerts. With two little ones of their own, he's spent years helping families discover the joy of music together.

Barry

Barry is a dad of four, who runs our Little Guitar Groovers sessions and teaches in our kids' ukulele and guitar classes. Since 2021, he's been helping our youngest musicians take their first steps into music.


Schedule

Little Guitar Groovers classes take place
Every Tuesday morning with breaks during school holidays.

FAQ

How long are the classes?

Our Tiny Headliners Baby Concerts (4m-2yrs) are approximately 45 minutes long.

Playful Plectrums classes (2-4yrs) run for around 30 minutes.


Can I bring my own instrument?

Absolutely! But we do provide enough Ukuleles for the toddlers and plenty of scarves, musical instruments for all the babies who come too.


Can I Bring More Than One Adult?

Your ticket is for one adult and child. If you wish to reserve a space for another adult you'll need to buy a second ticket.

We love that you might want to bring your partner or parents along, but when it gets busy we have to make sure that there is still space for all the reserved attendees.

If you have bought a ticket for each adult attending then that ensures you'll get your spot!


Can I bring a sibling to the session?

Yes, you can bring an older sibling (still under 2yrs old) on the same Tiny Headliners ticket.

If your child is older than 2yrs old, you might be more comfortable coming along to a Playful Plectrums class (2-4yrs). You're welcome to bring the younger baby to the Playful Plectrums class for free.
